Freaking Scary… Freaking Thrilling… and… with cold air-con, it freak me out during the whole movie. It is not a ghost story.. I say it again it is not a ghost story. It is about a “9 years old orphan” called Esther who been adopted by a family and she do all sort thing to love the father in the family. There is something really wrong with her. She do all the freaking scary things to people who will spoil her freaky plan. She push people off from a high place, kill a bird and even kill a human. You noticed that I use quote when I write “9 years old orphan”. It is because she is not an ordinary orphan. She is not what I expected to be…. you want to know who she really is.. go see it yourself. I don’t want to spoil the thrill and the horror feeling in the movie by telling the whole story here.

All I can say is… it is a nice horror movie with a very original story. I really don’t expect it to turn out like this. From the beginning of the movie until the end, I was 200% awake because got stunned, horrified, thrilled by it. So go catch it if you are horror movie fan. Thanks to Nuffnang for the free Premiere Screening of The Orphan tickets. Here is trailer of the movie:

Floria-2009-7

Last week I went to Floria 2009 or Putrajaya Flower & Garden Festival 2009 which held from 1st August to 9th August 2009 in Precinct 2 in Putrajaya. All lot of flowers were on display during the event which some of it I don’t even know the name (haha I’m into flower). All the flowers were decorated nicely like a small garden. They even decorate the flowers look like an animal. This event attracted a lot of people especially photographer to take this chance to take Macro photograph of the flowers. Due to the amount of photos that I took was too many, I separate the photos into 2 parts which will be posted in 2 different post on Floria 2009. Here is the first part of the photos.

Movies: G.I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra Review

G.I. Joe is a must see movie for G.I. Joe fan out there. It is about the origin of Cobra which is bad guy in the G.I. Joe series. Cobra is actually a scientist who perfected a weaponry technology which is far more deadly than nuclear and bio weapon for MARS industry (a weapon manufacturer) using NATO funding. Mr McCullen (boss for MARS industry) want to use this deadly weapon to give fear to all the people. G.I. Joe a special force team needs to stop this weapon by all means using advanced weapons, suits and vehicles.

The story of the movie is good. The action is non-stop right from the beginning and the final battle is nicely done with tons of destruction. One bad part of this movie is the CG scene. Some CG scene is too fake which even a children can identify it. The CG is not as good as Transformers but it still worth watching this movie for the action and good story. The character that I like most in this movie is Snake Eye (some sort like a Ninja). He stand out a lot in this movie and he looks cool as he doesn’t talk at all. I give 8/10 score for this movie. I deduct 2 points due to the poor CG scene. For action movie lover, go watch this movie. Here is the trailer for this movie.

Photography: KLCC Night View

KLCC or the Petronas Twin Tower is beautiful at night with a lot of lights on. Its become a very popular place for photographer to come to KLCC and take picture of it. I also went to try to take few picture of it. That night I was using my Sony A200 DSLR with 18-70mm kit lens with tripod. Tripod is a must as long exposure will be used to capture the stunning lighting of KLCC. That night I used 5 – 8 seconds exposure with aperture f14 to take picture of KLCC. I highly recommend photographer to use wide angle lens like 12-24mm lens as my kit lens 18mm not wide enough for some shot unless you have a Full Frame DSLR.  Now here is some of the picture I took.

Japan Super GT: GT Cars Racing (Panning Shot)

One of the purpose I went to Sepang Super GT Race is to practice my panning skill to take picture of moving object which is the GT cars. In order to take a photo where people can feel the car inside the picture is moving, you need use panning skill where you will need to set your camera to lower shutter speed and turn your body by following the car as it moves to take a very nice panning shot. Why must turn your body? When you put to lower shutter speed, the car in the picture will be blurred as the car is moving in fast speed. In order to take the car is very sharp but the background and the tyre remain blur, you need to turn your body while making sure the camera stay in focus on the car when taking the shot. Below are some of the panning shots I took during the event.

Movie: The Taking of Pelham 123 Review

I just watched The Taking of Pelham 123 movie. It is a thriller movie which based on a novel written by Morton Freedgood and a remake of the original 1974 movie. It was about a group hijacker hijack a New York subway train, Pelham 123 and take the passengers as hostages to demand ransom from the New York City Mayor. One of the hijacker called Ryder (John Travolta) which is the mastermind talk to Walter Graber (Denzel Washington) who happen to be the subway dispatch that day and Ryder told Graber his demands. It is Graber that makes Ryder plan gone wrong. The hijacker never expect that Graber will be the subway dispatch that day. How the hijacker know about Graber? One of the hijacker used to a worker of New York Subway before he was jailed for killing people. Ryder main reason for the hijack was not about the ransom money. It was something else which the value is far more greater than the ransom money.

It was really a good movie to watch. Both John Travolta and Denzel Washington really bring out characters very well. John Travolta is very much suitable to act as the hijacker as he can bring that thrilling elements out of the character. Both actors give a very deep feelings and it really give a very deep impact on the movie. The story line is very engaging. During the whole movie, I can’t take my eyes and ears off the movie. I was very deep into the storyline and wanted to know what will happen next. There is some comedy elements in the movie that will make you laugh. All I can say, both John Travolta and Denzel Washington really deliver a very nice movie to us. I give Thumb Up for this movie and I rate it 8 out of 10.

Why not you go watch it in cinemas and feel the thrill of the movie.

Movie: I want to be in “District 9″

This coming august, there will be a new movie by Peter Jackson called District 9. This is a sci-fi movie about aliens taking refuge on Earth in one place call District 9 in South Africa. A private company named MNU (Multi-National United) was contracted to make aliens’ weaponry work but they failed because it requires alien’s DNA to activate.

One day a MNU operative contracted a mysterious virus and his DNA start to change. Since then he became the world most hunted person. He holds the key to activate aliens’ weaponry. The only place he can hide now is in District 9. To find out more, remember to go catch this movie when its start screening on August 13, 2009 in cinemas near you.

Now… what if aliens really stay on earth in District 9. Will you want to go to District 9 and make contact with the aliens or maybe stay with them? For me…. I will be very much interested to go to District 9. You might not know what you will be able to gain from the aliens. They are far more advance than us. They can travels through space and come all the way to earth. The aliens hold technology that will enable us to travel in space in light speed (who knows …. :p) like USS Enterprise starship in Star Trek. I may learn something useful from them that can be put into good use for our mother earth and for mankind. Well… the aliens maybe labeled us, human as alien also as how we labeled them aliens also. I always wonder is there any real alien life form in Area 51. If yes, how actually they look like. All these questions make me want to go District 9. I will go catch the movie District 9 to find out more “truth” about aliens. For now, enjoy the District 9 trailer below.
