On 17 and 18 Dec 2011, Jalan Raja in Kuala Lumpur has turned into a ferocious drift track for the Achilles Formula Drift Malaysia 2011. Teams from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia competing in this events. I was able to get myself a media pass to cover this event. The first part of the track features high speed corner where cars will drift at over 100KM/Hr. After a high speed corner, there comes a super tight U-turn where 2 cars will drift side by side almost like sticking to each other. Daigo Saito from Sparks Achilles Drift Team compete with Manabu Orido from Team RSR in the final for the top spot. Both showed superb drifting skill. Manabu Orido made an uncharacteristic spin in the first but in second run he did an error-free drift. Who took the champion title? Is Daigo Saito. Here are some shots from the event.
